An extremely wealthy world wide Traveller told me that his three all time favourite places in the world are, Carmel in America, Noosa Northern Queensland and here in our special township of Lorne…..there's the obvious but very appropriate cliché of 'where the forest meets the sea.’ Loutitt Bay's amphitheatre is viewed by a privileged audience, scattered throughout the steep, eucalypt covered hills. Dolphins, Migratory Whales, fishing boats, Pier to Pub Swimmers, Competing Life Savers, Surfers and Swimmers are all part of the live performance here at Lorne.

RESTAURANTS
The 2 Km stretch from the 'Pier' Restaurant to the 'Erskine River' contains more than 20 eateries. All tastes and budgets are catered for from fine dining through to quality take away. Several Restaurants feature live music which compliments your dining experience. Lorne's compact geography enables a simple stroll home along the beach.

SHOPPING
Too busy during the year to Shop? Make the most of Lorne's noted clothing boutiques, surf shops, galleries, book shops and gift shops, stock up before you return home.

RECREATION
Play the challenging and picturesque 9 hole golf course (soon to become 18), hire a tennis court with the family or set the challenge and run a corporate tennis tournament.

Ride the iconic point on a long board, watch the kids perform on the trampolines and skate park. Picnic alongside the children's playground, catch Calamari or any amount of varied types of fish from the rocks or pier. Swim the famous Pier to Pub course or walk the many documented 'National Parks' tracks. Take a surf lesson or hire a mountain bike.
Your Lorne experience can be as energetic or laid back as you desire.

ART
Qdos gallery is located a short drive out of town. Take the ever changing exhibitions, wander through the bush and view the many and varied sculptures displayed. Qdos also hosts Concerts and Cinema in the Amphitheatre throughout the year. Qdos Cafe
